About our Scout Troop!

Rifle shooting Our Scout troop leaders have over 49 years of adult experience offering a programme of both current and traditional ideas. Whilst traditionally the Scout Troop relies on the Cub Pack for it's members we welcome new members without any previous involvement in the organisation.

We welcome both boys and girls between the ages of 10 and a half - 14 years. We do not operate a waiting list and invite new members to join us for a months trial without any commitment.

Climbing The leaders have attained specialist skills which together with the associations authorisations allow them to instruct in Archery, Rifle Shooting and Climbing. All of our leaders have been trained in basic First Aid and hold current first response certification

Scouting is the Physical, Social, Mental and Spiritual Development of Young People!

Martyn's Challenge Trophy for teamwork

Challenge Trophy We encourage the scouts to actively work as part of their patrol awarding points for their success at various activities they undertake. This is awarded at the end of each term, recording the Patrol Leaders name.

Martyn was a West Moors Leader with 22 years service to the troop and a strong believer in the Patrol system. He continues to actively support the group.

Camps can vary from competition camps, activity camps, working camps (where scouts will learn new skills) or survival weekends, where Scouts will build their own shelters and so on.
